ABOUT US

In February of 2024, Olga Kovacevic passed away due to a brain aneurysm. She was a person who loved to help others, not only in her profession but also in her church and local community, whether that be her patients, friends, and family, or volunteering at various events at St. Sava's church or St. Herman's House.

Being a daughter of immigrant parents, she always dreamed of becoming a doctor. There came a time during her collegiate years when this dream nearly didn't become a reality due to limited financial resources. Her mom helped her continue her education by getting a second job to cover her college expenses. Because of her mother's hard work and selflessness, Olga finished her undergraduate degree at the University of Mount Union and her doctorate at Wright State University.

The rest of the story is history, as many of us came to know Dr. Olga as the helpful, loving, and generous mother, doctor, and friend. When reflecting on Olga's life, her family wanted to start a cause that she would be proud of, but also one that would best describe her character and achievements. She was truly one who wanted to help others, and she will continue to do so.

The goal of the Dr. Olga Scholarship is to help prospective students achieve their dreams. Knowing the financial struggles that she dealt with during her undergraduate years, starting this scholarship fund is the best way to honor her legacy and make her proud. We are hoping this scholarship will help a prospective student with the cost of continued education.
